Core Values
Quality, Value, and Service. - It’s imperative that we maintain our best quality while charging a fair price and getting the customer their product in a timely manner. This pretty much sums up The Golden Rule — treat others as you want to be treated.
So, how do we define Quality, Value, and Service? Quality – We must maintain a degree of excellence in every gear we make.
As our journeymen train our apprentices, we often hear them ask the young machinist-in-training, “Would you buy this?” meaning the quality of their work needs to go beyond “good enough.” The question challenges our apprentices to treat our customers as they would want to be treated. Inferior craftsmanship is not an option. |
Value – We must give our customers a fair price — not too low and not too high.
Profit is not a dirty word but we never want to be accused of price-gouging. Our goal is to make enough profit to 1) pay our staff a reasonable wage and 2) reinvest back into the company so our staff has the best equipment and tools necessary to make the quality gears our customers expect.

Service – We must get our customers what they need when they need it.
Service is not a slogan but an attitude at Edgerton Gear. It is a posture of humility that recognizes that we do not exist without our customers or each other. Every day, we need to ask ourselves if our customers, our company, and our co-workers are better off or worse because of the job we did today.
Simple as that. What’s not so simple is being diligent about keeping these three in balance. We are not perfect but we strive to do the right thing every time.
