Capabilities
Edgerton Gear can make complete gears, sprockets and pulleys up to 60” in diameter. Our full service machine shop includes gear hobbers, lathes, vertical turning lathes, mills, wire EDM, flame hardening, and gas nitride ovens. This allows us to control our processes in house and to provide the shortest lead-time possible.
We also stock round bars of various grades of steel, aluminum, stainless steel and plastics up to 16” in diameter so we can respond as soon as is needed to customer break-down situations.
For food-grade applications, we use various types of stainless steel, either passivating or electropolishing in our finishing operation to ensure FDA compliance.
On the occasion that other operations are needed that we can’t supply, such as plating, additional heat treating, or a special machining operation, Wisconsin is home to a wealth of manufacturing industries that we partner with to supply our customers with a finished product.
